Hi,

after pm to Raulkin, a public screem for help Sad

I payed to be able to get a backup of the forum, but when I request the link, I get the page with the >> link
When I click on it, I get a message I need to wait 24hrs before I can request again.
So I did, and now I just have the same result.

please get this fixed as I want a backup today as planned, and as payed for.

If not I'm afraid I'll file a complain to visa for fraud.

You don't have to ask for help on more than 1 ForumUp Support site. I've just replied to you on NL, but will give you the same reply here in English.

I've reported the back-up problem to the webmaster in the staff area, but that's all we can do as staff members.

There are several threads about the back-ups, I'll find the .com ones for you in a moment, but here's one on NL

that says the backups are actually in a preliminary stage and there may be several errors.

Just for the record: I do think that this should be fixed or the function taken off the forumup forums, but you could have known if you read the files about back-ups carefully before purchasing ads-free.

As stated in that thread, you are not actually buying a "backup". You are simply paying for a lot of no ads for your forum. When one has over 700,000 no ads "credit", then the backup feature becomes available.

However, as stated in that thread, it is not just applying the backup that can have problems.

Getting the backup is a problem as well.

Please email Raulken at the email address in the above listed thread for help with your backup related problem. None of the staff can help as none of us have access to the server.

I personally would not pay any more money until you have heard from Raulken.

I have moved this thread out of the "Urgent Forum Problems" section since your ForumUp forum is not having an urgent problem.

Penguin, there is a big problem with posting someone's personal information on the internet. You don't do that, for whatever reason.

There is no fraud here, as you call it. You have paid for getting the Ads removed (blocked) from your forum. This made the test version -- the Beta version -- of the backups available to you. You were informed that it is a test version, with problems.

I can see that it is easy to misunderstand what you and others have paid for, and I would personally have made the Backups available in another way, to avoid this confusion.

At this point it seems -- seems, I have no up to date info from Raulken -- that the system has become stuck in this "wait 24 hours" mode. A qualified guess is that Raulken is trying to solve the problem. He's got no reason not to, so to speak. But it may take some time...

Meanwhile, do not pay for any more Ads Removals -- unless you want to keep the Ads off your forum.

First, Mr Raulken's personal info is all over the internet.
Just do the google and you'll see.
So if it's here or not, it does not change!

Secundo,
If we are for mr Raulken good enough to "donate" him money, then I do demand a descend service as well.
If only he, and he alone can reconfigure the many servers/services running, then he has a problem to solve ASAP.
But 9/10 mr Raulken doesn't want that help, or he'll risk to share his extra income!

Third,
Since now I have over 90000 add free hits, I still get complaints of my users about an activ-x and trojan warnings of their anti-virus
This is far more serious than some add's and letting people pay for air!

Fourth,
Ok, so I donated money to get the backup, backup does not work.
What do you expect I do when the backup works, but I don't have sufficient add-free clicks anymore???
Pay again???

Still sure there is no fraud going on???

I hope I get descend answers and solutions soon, (very soon) or complaints will get to eurodns and dns.be regarding the current abuse, spam and virus spreading of there domain names.
These are in Belgium and in Europe federal crimes!!!!

As I found also on the net, investigations are started end March for the forumup.us domain.

If that had been true, I am sure he had been into something else than providing free -- advertising funded -- forums all over the world.

The Trojan Active-X "thingy" is connected to the ads, and it does unfortunately not get blocked by the Ads removal system, because it is not supposed to be there in the first place. In this case it is the ads company, and not ForumUp you should blame. Raulken has been working hard to get rid of the problem, and he did get rid of it earlier this year. For some reason it is back now.

Yes, it is a serious problem. But you cannot compare it to something that doesn't happen. No one is paying "for air" on ForumUp.

No, I wouldn't think so. I cannot speak for Raulken here, but I know there are other options. Which is one reason that I say, do not pay more, at this point, unless you want to have the ads removed.

Again, that is the ads company doing something wrong. To which should be added that it is not a "virus" in that sense. Nor is it spam from ForumUp.

Penguin, you apparently did not read the information that is posted in a few places on this forum. You got what you paid for, which was many "credits" for no ads showing on your forum. There is no fraud going on, since it was made clear on many places that what you are paying for is no ads showing on your forum.

No crimes, spam abuse were committed by Raulken or ForumUp. Raulken didn't put any viruses on his sites!! If there is a virus, it got there due to the crime of some unknown party. Many websites and personal computers wind up with viruses and many people unknowingly spread them to others.

You need to calm down. It is regrettable and annoying that the backup feature is having problems right now, but as was said, there is no such thing on ForumUp as "paying for a backup." At one time the backup feature did work. I feel sure that Raulken will work on fixing the problem.
