You'll only get the message when an email has to be send after posting, so when there's a member who has the "Notify me on replies" on. That is why you don't get the error in every topic you post.

If the error doesn't disappear I would advice you to tell your members to turn off the "notify me on replies".

Just so I'm clear here. Embarassed

I have over 50 members.

If just one member has the "notify me on replies" option clicked, that could cause this debug message to appear for anybody who posts in that particular thread?

Yes. Seemingly so.

It is a bug that has occurred with the forums. It will be fixed and go away when the webmaster fixes it. It is not supposed to happen.

You can post a notice on your forum that there is a temporary problem resulting in that error message appearing after one posts a message. The message still gets posted, however.

Thanks.

The complaints have stopped coming, so either the debug messages have stopped, or the thread I posted asking people to change their settings if they have the email notification set has worked.

Plus, now I have a thread explaining to members what's going on if this happens again. Very Happy

If you are getting email notification regarding activity in any specific thread you have this option on.

Please turn it off as that's creating the "Debug Mode" error message (see quote below) that many of us are seeing when posting in those threads.

Just to be clear, it is not that having one's profile set to receive notifications causes the debug message in general. It is only at this moment in time that there is problem with the emailer, so that that debug message appears.

Once the webmaster fixes the emailer bug, there won't be that debug message if people have their profiles set to receive email notification of new posts.
