I don't know if I can ask this but I was wondering where the staff gets their avatars made. Is it a certain site provider you use or are they custom made?
Thanks! (I would like to see if I can get some made...)

They are custom made. The basic ID cards were made by a former Staff member, and another Staff member modifies them now.

And oh, they are not Avatars, they are Rank Images. Important difference there... Laughing

If I were you I would either get started on my own, with an image editing program, or come up with an idea and assign it to a forum member with talent. That's how you get stuff that you like, and can be proud of. Wink

Can you have a Rank image that big on our free forums? and if so, can you also have an avatar with it?

Yes Achilles, you can have a Rank Image of similar size on any forum. And you can have an Avatar below it as well, if you want.

Make the rank image, upload it to a reliable image host, like Imageshack, get the direct URL to the image and paste it in the "box" for rank image URL, in the Rank editing.

Note that you must use the whole URL for a remote image, and not only part of it, as you do for the Rank Images provided by ForumUp.

An image of this size will not show up as an image in the Rank Editing. You will see the infamous white square with the red x [X] instead. But there is nothing wrong, assuming that the Rank Image shows up on the sidebar profiles.

Thanks again as always Fox, I appreciate it! If you've ever got some time to kill and have any suggestions for my layout or anything else on my site, that'd be awesome man. If not no worries! Smile

You are welcome, Achilles. My pleasure.

I usually refrain from "artistic" advice, as it is likely to hamper -- or at least limit -- the members' creativity. No one except me wants my ideal forum, others prefer their own. And I do my best to help in that respect instead, which usually means to provide technical solutions.

But that "philosophy" does not prevent me from saying that your forum looks really good at the moment. Very "clean", and with a consistent design all through. You have made the most of the AcidTech Template; used it to your advantage in a clever way.

The only part that sticks out a little, in a negative sense is the top logo, in the way that it cuts off the sparks (or whatever it is) coming from the left and right.

Unfortunately there is no way to change all three images on the template (the side ones are in the style sheet).

But you could perhaps make use of the side ones; add part of them to the middle logo, and make it look like one single banner. It will take some trial and error to make it fit, but perhaps you'll find it worthwhile. I know that I would, if I had come as far with the rest of the design...

So, I'll stop babbling and give you the images to copy:
