uhh...that's fine for the two I know about....what about all the others I don't know about?

How many "new" members to all of our forums are not joining because they get warning messages about virus issues?

This is effecting all of us in some way or another.

I have Norton and Spyware Doctor and I get those popups on forums often. As long as your security is kept up to date, there should be no problem.

Microsoft released a rather large file of updates yesterday. If you haven't already done so, download and install it now.

Just a heads up about Norton security systems.(Something I wrote up)

Norton Anti-Virus

I think I have found the problem to why most peoples computers are running slower than usual.

Norton Anti-Virus has crashed many computers including mine. I have now switched to Trend-Micro which runs perfectly and uses less space then

Norton. Norton Anti-Virus has been known to lock up your computer. Just a fair warning to all that have Norton that this may happen to you.

-How to Uninstall-

Precautions-

Make sure that you have unplugged/disconnected your internet so nothing can attack you during this process. Have another system ready to install

after you uninstall Norton before connecting back to the Internet.

Windows-

1.Goto your Start Button at bottom left of your computer screen.

2.Press Control Panel.

3.Add/remove programs.

4.You will get a list of all the installed programs on your computer.

5.Remove all Norton Anti-Virus and Automatic Updating Sytems.

6.Make sure that everything related to Symatic or Norton is removed.(Symatic are the makers of Norton.)

7.Install your new Anti-Virus system. I would recommend Spy Sweeper and Trend Micro.

That's not the point.

How many people are clicking onto forumup forums and getting a warning screen about virus problems?

Most people who see that will not bother to go any farther. They will click off that site in a New York second.

Regardless of how attractive a forum might sound they will not risk a computer problem before they even get past the first click.

How can I assure potential new members that there's nothing to be scared of regarding Forumup.com sites?

It's nothing. It is the McAfee SiteAdvisor, but not warning about any virus or malware. This is what it says:

All many people need to see is this:

WARNING

Then, when you throw in things like adware, spyware and unwanted programs....

There's a lot of really scared and frightened people using the interweb.

One computer virus contamination problem can send people screaming for the hills.

Anybody who is trying to get a new forum up and running is probably losing some new members over these kinds of warnings.

That could spell death for a new forum when one or two new members might breath life into a place with no members.
