how do find out when my member last logged on? i've been trying to find out

is there a way to find out?

No, there is no way to figure that out.

(Although something is lingering in the back of my mind about this subject just can't put my hand on it...)

You can't. You can only see when they last posted, by checking their profile from the member list, then clicking on "show posts by the member" (or words to that effect).
