As for the €1,50 - are you trying to send the donated money to your bank account then? Because sending it to someone's Paypal account (so: your member - your private acccount), shouldn't cost anything.

No, not at all. According to the paypal site if funds are sent to you funded by a credit or debit card you are charged a fee, also you can only have two such transactions in a year if you only have a personal account. The only way it is free is if the other person sends you the money, without a change of currency, funded by another paypal account. That is very seldom going to be the case, not only because the majority of people won't have a paypal balance, but also because our forum has members from all over the world.
Sending money is free, unless it's to your bank account and you're outside the USA, it's the receiving they charge you for and currency exchange.
Here's the link -

As you can see I have spent quite a bit of time researching this.

Ah I see, never saw that page before!
So if I understand it right, you have to pay a fee, because the forum member donated it with his/her creditcard?

But - to "stop" that, can't you ask if that member sets up a (free!) paypal account too, so he can donate money with paypal? On that way it doesn't cost anything, the different currency shouldn't make any difference either.
It's a bit more work, but it seems to be the only option....

Yes, members could set up a paypal account, although there are many people who are very wary of paypal and wouldn't want to do so, meaning some members who would normally contribute won't ... and if their account was in dollars say, I would still have to pay a fee for the currency conversion.
All in all a bit of a pain, incurring costs and meaning extra work for the Admins, and far from being as easy as it was with the donate button from Raulken. That's why I ask that other possibilities be explored to make the situation easier for the forums to donate. After all it is in Raulken's interest that the money keeps flowing in.

I don't mean to be an a*s here...but this is business.
It's way d**n easier to explain to people how to use Firefox and AdBlocker than go through the paypal money transaction cr*p.
Which, in the end means less money flowing to Forumup.
So I'm sure somebody will figure this out soon if they'd like for people to keep donating.

Raulken has been informed that his original idea of copying the PayPal code in the admin panel does not work.
So, now we must wait.

Maybe yes, maybe no. If you have ads back, ForumUp gets money from the ads.
Anyway, Raulken has many things to do, so again, we wait for him to get a chance to deal with this matter. _________________ Margaret /gg'ssimon~ForumUp World-Wide Administrator

Can you please confirm, and/or highlight the text that needs to be changed. I picked two that I saw that you could be referring to.
Looks like there are at least two more places that might need to be changed for this to work correctly.
I apprciate the effort to fix this issue. _________________Only registered users can see links on this forum!Register or Login on forum!

Yep, those are the ones I was looking at too.
The first two had me confused.
Has anybody tried this yet? Successfully?

I have replaced all the staff URL's with my own test forum URL's. The code works when posted in the HTML box.
You are sent to the page that you would normally be sent to if you clicked the PayPal button in the admin panel.
See if it works for you.
Note: It comes up in Italtian, tell your users to change the drop down box to Suriname.
