Hello

Just a few questions sorry Embarassed

I was wondering how long does it take before I am able to see the emotions I requested in a zip file that I sent by email, if they have been added .

Will I see them on the first page of Smiles Editing Utility search when I want to add more or could they pop up anywhere .

Sandra

You can add your own smilies a different way though. Using the censored words, if you say :butterfly: it will replace it with a butterfly picture that you have chosen.

You were correctly following the instructions in the FAQ folder about requesting new smilies.

The webmaster is on vacation until September, so it will be a while until he reads his emails. I do not know how long it will take before adds new smilies, or if he is adding new smilies. He didn't say he was not, so maybe he will.

From what I can tell, they might pop up anywhere.

I do know for sure that no new templates are being uploaded. I don't recall anything about smilies, but as you said, we'll see when he gets back from vacation.

Until then, as I said in a above post there is a way to add smilies via the Word Censor option in the admin panel. I'll make a guide soon.

The guide is not fully finished to be put in the guide section but for now you can use it.

How to Add Smilies Using Word Censor Feature in Admin Panel

This is an option to add your own smilies, without having to e-mail the webmaster. This way is so you can customize the smilies you like and add new ones.

1. From the Admin Panel>>General Admin>>Word Censors.

2. Press the Add New Word button.

3. In the word option there are certain restrictions on what can and cannot be the censored word.

Can't: Any type of symbol in front of or behind the actual word.

Can: Letters and numbers, any combination of the two.

For example, if you type picturebutterfly, instead of the words picturebutterfly appearing, the picture that is set on that word censor will appear.

4. In the Replacement spot you must have this code in it, or else the picture will not appear.

Code:
<img src="Picture URL Here">

Replace Picture URL Here with the actual URL of the picture you wish to substitute.

Exclamation Troubleshooting Exclamation

-The censored word just stays there, even though I have it censored in the admin panel.
~There should not be any symbols around or in the word. Otherwise the above will happen.

-The censored word is replaced just by the code, not the picture.

~This means you have not copy and pasted the correct code. Make sure it is exactly how the guide says.

Exclamation You do not have to have HTML code activated anywhere in your forum(Profile, Configuration Admin Panel, etc.). The system automatically allows HTML code in word censors, along with other places around your forum(Forum Descriptions, etc.).
