One of my moderators accounts was hacked today and whoever hacked it deleted all the threads in a forum he is moderator for. If I request a backup database will this bring all the threads back and fix the problem?

Okay. Well, I'm talking to the moderator through e-mail and he's having trouble accessing the forum and only the forum. Is there any possible way to fix this? I looked at the ban list and he isn't banned. I just don't know what to do.

No. He can't even access the page. He said it just shows a blank, white page and it says it's done loading.

That is a problem on his end. Tell him to delete his browsers cache, cookies and private info. If that doesn't work, what browser is he using?

It still isn't working. He said he's using Mozilla Firefox. He said he's just going to wait for a bit and see if it works later.

The problem is that someone guessed or figured out his password. Change his account to a very hard to guess or figure out password. It should have at least 8 characters, include a number, and NOT have his name included in the password- not his user name or real name.

Meanwhile, make his current account NOT have any moderator rights!

Next, make it so no moderators can delete anything. Instead, make a Trash folder that is set to private. Have the moderators move undesired posts into the trash folder. Make only the trash folder able for moderators to delete threads. That will prevent the problem you experienced from happening again.

That fixes one problem but he's still having trouble accessing the forum. He was gone for the weekend and when he got back he found out his account was hacked. Is it just coincidence that his account was hacked and he can't access the forum?

Someone getting his password would not have anything to do with his being able to view the forum.

Can he see this support forum?
