What exactly is the problem? What happens? How far do you get? _________________

Hello, Admin from the same forum listed above,
Only registered users can see links on this forum! Register or Login on forum! |
it's becoming murder to get a simple back up, every time we try, we just get told to wait another so many hours, when the hours are up, we get the link via e mail, click it....follow the two arrows and it tells us to wait another 24 hours, the forum in question is a car club...for our piece of mind we decided to use the ad removal process to keep backing up the important info we have, but it's just not happening?

No options to get backup. Only get message cannot repeat for 24hrs
Tried it twice with no luck.

I've posted about the problem in a staff forum for Raulken to read.
But you should email Raulken too with the problems you have, as maybe he might help you faster then (as in: maybe he reads/fixes email problems before the ones reported here).
Please check out this thread for his email: Only registered users can see links on this forum! Register or Login on forum! |
There's also some information on what should be in the email. _________________

Have done everything on that thread, e mailed Raulken nearly 2 weeks ago and there has not even been a single reply, no offense but this is really poorly run, very annoyed. |

Tried for the 4th time and still the same result... nothing!
Penguin - please post this week and let us know if you get sorted... wait and see if 'the man who can' will fix every ones backup in one or each individual case. _________________ Nutty x |

I'm not sure but you must log in in your administration panel on another window before yuou click on the link and double arrow.
Anyway it's pretty to me that this thing is made as much tricky as possible with the precise intention to create problems and keep as much forums as possible under the forumup circuit. |

If there was a truth in this, don't you think it would have been easier for ForumUp to quite simply continue to not provide backups?!
I can fully understand that you are frustrated, despite all the warnings about this being a test version with problems.
But please refrain from unfounded and illogical accusations.

Yes, you do have to first be logged into your forum before you click on the link and the double arrow. Here is the guide with instructions:

The backup feature used to work, but something has gone wrong. Raulken did not then change it to make it create problems on purpose! That is not nice for you say! Anyway, anyone can make a new forum and tell all their members to go there instead, without having a backup of the ForumUp forum. You could then copy and paste the posts from the ForumUp forum to the new forum, if so desired.
There is a notice on the index page in the top section that says:
| Quote: | | At this time, the Backup feature is not working. We hope it will be fixed soon. |

After the call he gave some sort of impression of being alive.
He said he would react in a day or 2.
This was 1 week ago.
A 2nd call will be made soon _________________
