Hi, I have paid for remove adds and enabled backup, I would like the backup but I have not received my special email, can anyone help.

I have checked all junk mail and my junk setting is set to lowest so its not been blocked.

Just request another one, you can only request every 24 hours if I remember rightly though.

I got the email with the backup link, but it didn’t work, when I clicked to download the backup it just went back to my forum homepage, the only thing that I think could cause this is the windows pop up blocker.

I have requested another backup (a couple of days ago but still not got the email) this time I will disable the pop up blocker and try again.

Any advice?

Did you read the instructions about backups in the announcement:

Yes, I got to here

1) select "Full backup"
2) Gzip compress file to YES
3) press START BACKUP and WAIT, not other click (Your download will start shortly; please wait until it begins.)

But it didnt begin, just went to the forum home page, I waited for a long time.

Ok, I just checked my email, and I had the special link, I followed the instructions but when I went to backup database I got a cannot load this page error so I refreshed the page and got:

Cannot resend within 24 hours, please wait.24hours

What shall I do now? Request another when I can, from a different location may be?

I just got the special link and had another go at downloading the backup, but no success, what a surprise,

I will request another when it lets me and try again, this really makes me mad

Should it take 3 days to get the link or should it be instant? I have been trying for a week now.

It is very frustrating so it is ok you said it was making you feel mad. It does take a few days sometimes.

I would say to try again, following the instructions carefully. When our Webmaster sees this, if there is still a problem, he will advise you.

If U need help send me your forum url, admin and password and I download database and send to your email owner ok?

note, I help U only on get database not to restore into another mysql or convert to access, oracle or other database...

Right this is the 4th time I have tried to get a forum backup, I requested the special link on Friday the 20/04/07 which I received on Sunday, and today (Monday) I went to see if it would work and its back to the ‘Press the button to send the email owner a special link to download Backup’ screen, so why didn’t I even get the option to download a backup?

Are there known problems with this feature? Does everyone have this much trouble?

I want a backup to do my own tests with, but every time I try it fails! I keep topping up my show without adds counter, so I can keep trying, but its not working!

Can someone from admin check it out, if possible bypass the automatic link sending system (that takes 2-4 days) and send me a special download link that will work?

If that’s not possible I would like to go ahead with what Raulken suggested so he can do it for me, but it would be good if it worked the correct way.

I am happy to help in any way I can to identify what’s going wrong, just let me know!
