Requesting new smilies/emoticons

You cannot upload any smilies/emoticons yourself to your ForumUp forum. You need to request that our Webmaster Raulken add any new smilies. All smilies added will then be available for all ForumUp forums.

1) If you want certain smilies/emoticons added, first, you MUST check the existing smilies that are available for ForumUp forums to see if what you want might already be there. See all the 1,700 + smilies/emoticons available for ForumUp forums at:

If you request an emoticon that is already available, your entire request will be denied, even if the other's you are requesting at the same time are totally new to ForumUp.

2) You must download the smilies/emoticons you want our Webmaster to add to ForumUp onto your own computer.

3) Then, you must rename the smilies on your computer as follows:

yourforum_imagename.gif

For example, here, "yourforum" will be "staff".

So a smilie would be renamed, for example, as: staff_cutesmile.gif

If your forum is named, for example, Fun Games Forum, then you would rename a smiley to: fungamesforum_nameofsmiley.gif

Of course, you put the real name of the smiley, instead of what is in the above examples.

3) Make a zip file with all your renamed smilies/emoticons in it.

4) Then send the the zip file with all the smilies/emoticons in it in an email to Raulken, writing your request and giving the URL to your forum. Send it to him at:

5) The new smilies/emoticons will then be added to the smilies/emoticon page at

6) The smilies/emoticons you requested will not be added to your forum, you have to add them yourself. The new smilies are added to main smilie/emoticon page and are then available to every ForumUp forum.

To add any smiley/emoticon to your forum, you need to go to the Admin Panel>General Admin>Smilies
