We are now 'a few weeks' further, almost rounding off this year.
The backup feature was 'near completion'... how close to actual useful is it right now???
The troubles on the .be server aren't yet resolved, nor any estimated times for them to be fixed can be given. So I feel 'forced' to move, to give further meaning to holding a forum together while it's possible. |

Excuse me, will there be backups ever? I mean, is this a temporary thing, or is it a new rule of forumup?
I have more than 1400 posts and cannot move it all by my self
I just think of a paid forum now, not moving still. But asking.
Thanks ! |

We do not know when there will be backups. There never were backups on ForumUp forums. _________________ Margaret /gg'ssimon~ForumUp World-Wide Administrator

ForumUp has provided great service for me, but now the interests of my forum fare better at InvisionPlus. However, I am still on the fence about switching. Is there a way for me to switch my forums style from PHPBB to InvisionPlus without having to create an entirely new forum and transfer all the posts? _________________

No, there is not a way at the present time. There may be in the near future. _________________

Are saying you just want a style that is like InvisionPlus? _________________ Margaret /gg'ssimon~ForumUp World-Wide Administrator

To be honest, I think if backups ever become avalible people should have to pay a X amount for the free services. I also think the only reason why someone should is because there forum is popular and they want a paid software.
I don't agree with moving to free forum software to another free forum software, unfair for the fisrt provider, in my opinion. _________________

What about on the .name and .gr domains as Raulken once said?

I'll be dead in the 'near future' would also be as precise and correct. |

Raulken did say they are avalible to test at .name, so check one out. Create a test forum.
If they do allow backups on .name, that probably means that Raulken is working on getting them right, and the near future will be very soon. _________________

I did had a .NAME forum, and in about 7 days it's about to expire. I checked the same day I created it, and will do so the last day before it expires. So far, I haven't seen had the chance/option to choose for backup anywhere in the administration panel or it was denied. |

When the Development staff are satisfied the Backup routine is safe for general use, it will be made available to subscribers of our premium service.
As this is not a thread for discussing the status of that project, it is well off-topic.
