I just wanted to pass along that I'm no longer getting any emails. I don't get told when I have new PMs (no it doesn't go to spam), my members don't get activations (yes I already read the posts, and I'm sorry, but not EVERYONE has access to an email that's not a free account.

Actually, I am quite dissatisfied with my forum and service has gone downhill in the 2 years or so I've had the site.

So this is actually just letting Raulken and all know that once my new site is up, I am leaving forumup.

I feel like talking to support is banging my head on a wall, and I am far too busy to have to police the site like I apparently need to.

Please give the URL to your forum.

I understand your frustrations. I am sorry there have been problems.

I almost always get the emails on my free Yahoo.com account. Yahoo.com is better to use to get emails from ForumUp. I do know that some other email accounts don't get the emails.

We have informed the Webmaster Raulken about the email problem.

Monica, can you please write what is the domain of the e-mail-accoun that are using. (yahoo.com, gmail.com etc.) I will try if can recieve e-mails from forumup there.
Just don't post your whole e-mail address here.
I hope that the members and the staff will help you resolve your problem and you will continue using the forumup services.

PMs should work no problem.

Emails - Some providers have block some emails from coming through, this is what has happened with ForumUp. You can read more about this in the Guides and Tutorials folder. Lately there has also been a delay in email coming through, our last investigations showed that they were sent from ForumUp on time, but in somewhere in trasmission were slowed or temp. lost.

Is this for e-mail activation/mass-email? If so this is just the notification telling you that the e-mails can't get sent to the member. Normally this is because it is a spam account as they usually don't have proper e-mail addresses.

I registered today on a ForumUp forum, and got the activation email to my Yahoo.com account. I also get notificiations of PM's and posts from this ForumUp.com support forum and other ForumUp support forums. Just today I got notification emails of PM's to me on ForumUp.nl.

So it is not that the ForumUp mail totally is not working.

Still, there may be something about your individual forum that has a problem.

You don't have anything in the configuration page in the SMPT fields, do you? Those are supposed to be blank.

never changed SMPT fields. i'm not smart enough to know what it is i'm smart enough not to touch it.

Some mail is going again, but it's moot point, honestly, because I'm starting the shut down process of my forumup and moving to invision thx for the help but this just isnt customisable enough or admin friendly enough a system for me

No it is not e-mail activation/mass-email as I use the forumup internal email for that to save me opening up another tab. This is the website address whch is linked to the forum in the admin email address section. This has always been in place and has only this week caused problems. Like Monica I don't anything in the configuration page in the SMPT fields as I am happy to use the forumup email. Had this been a problem from the outset I would have thought It was something I had done.

I'll see how things go and let you know in due course. It might sort itself out. thanks , artpad

artpad, those would be due to the mail system not being able to deliver an activation email because the person, or spambot, that registered did not give a real email address.

Go look at the profile in the admin panel of the member to see if the language was set to Albanian and if there is a website link to a porn or drug forum. If so, that was a spambot. They often don't give real email addresses.
