Hi,

I have several users that have problems with View posts since last visit when they click that link they see old messages and no new ones? Could it has something to do with there internet options, I mean removing cookies and files. They always look at one and the same PC. I haven’t got that problem yet so I don’t think it has something to do with the forum. I looked at there profile but that’s all ok. Any idée what this could be?

Thanks in advance, Danny Wink

Well, there's 2 things that could be it (from what I think).. It could be the browser they are using that is causing it. Like for example, I know Exeleron had some problems with new/old posts showing in Firefox, after he updated it.
So, ask them what browser they use and if they -for example- use firefox, ask them to try it with Internet Explorer or whatever else available. Smile If it works there, you/they know it's a problem with Firefox/another browser and they will have to update that/uninstall and install again.

Then there's this

They always look at one and the same PC

Is it like 3 users using the same computer? I have a test account on my forum aswell as my admin one and whenever I leave with my admin one and then 5 minutes later login under my test one, the new posts don't always show either. Like you said, when I did delete my cookies the posts do show - if not, they don't.

So well, to make this loong story short *sorry* - Ask them what browswer they use and to try another one once. And to clear their temporary internet files. And then try again.

Offtopic: Is this the new support forum you're going to? (I don't mind either way, but well read your post on NL, so curious now..)

Also here they going to leave it like it is, because they don’t have really the knowledge of there PC. But they are young and not all parents don’t have also the knowledge.
I think that’s the best way for them and its just a new way to explore the forum. Wink

Offtoppic: that’s no problem for me love to deal with you Laughing , you act like a support must. And that I appreciate. thankyou

Thanks Wink

Maybe you can point out those "yellow things" in front of topic names to them? A) It shows in what topics there are new posts (yellow = new) B) If you click on that yellow thing, it brings you to the first new post in that topic.

I always use it, and personally think it's more useful then the 'View posts since last visit'.

(I'm not quite sure if they do see those - as they should see new posts in the "View posts.." thingy then too, but well - maybe they do.. and then it's a nice other way to quickly see in what topics there are new posts.)
