Each page loads up quick enough (once it's found) so load time figures don't appear high BUT it's browser time spent looking for each page that's excrutiatingly slow (the slider in your browser).

The front page isn't so bad (sometimes), it's a lot worse when you click on a forum.

Sometimes it's so bad that the browser reverts back to Times Roman font without any graphics to get it up and loaded.

It's been happening to members for the last two days. Before that it was fine.

Is this a known problem on other forums and is there a fix for this at all?

There can be many different reasons, prcan. But the time frame is consistent with some other problems on .com forums.

I will report this to the Webmaster. But he's got a few urgent things at the same time right now, so it may take a while.

Meanwhile, you could try some things to lessen the problem:

Go to the Admin Panel >> General Admin >> Configuration.

And scroll down to Topics Per Page and Posts Per Page and lower them.

You could also try to switch style template, to the basic subSilver, and set Override user style to Yes.

This may or may not work, depending on the source of the problem. But it is well worth a try, if it makes it a little more comfortable for you and your members.

prcan, your forum is likely slow to load due to waiting for the ads to load. You can pay to have them removed.
