Hallo Forumup staff

My Virus program says this:
When we tested this site we found links to starware.com, which we found to be a distributor of downloads some people consider adware, spyware or other potentially unwanted programs.

look into it
remove this links and remove your spyware in sites
who have links with adwares

Hi Nazkal. It would be good if you could provide some more information about this. With thousands of forums and several servers it's a bit hard to "go looking" for it...

Where exactly did you get this warning? On what forum(s) or domain(s) did you come across it?

ForumUp does not link to starware, or any other addware sites. Much less is there spyware "in" ForumUp sites. This does not exclude that there is a problem, but if so, it must be "local", and not all over ForumUp.

If links in this case includes "ordinary" links, in posts, profiles, etc. then the link that triggered the warning is likely to be found in a spambot profile. And if so, it must also be clicked to cause any harm.

First, those things have nothing to do with viruses. It was the not the virus detection part of your computer protection package that gave that notice. Do you have McAfee? McAfee has some other program that gives those kind of messages. They are somewhat over cautious kinds of messages.

It is not a problem. That message says this site has links to starware.com. It is starware.com that is said to distribute downloads. Some of the downloads stareware.com distributes MIGHT be considered adware, etc. It is not really something for you to wory about.

Adware is not really a problem. It is only an annoyance to some people. It causes no harm to your computer. A great many sites have adware and things that some people call "spyware". Spyware is not spying on things on your computer or collecting any personal information about you. What it is is a way for advertisers to know what internet sites people tend to visit, to help them make ads that might appeal to more people on the internet. They just track internet usage, not your personal documents, etc, you might have on your computer.

You can download and install Spybot, which is a program that you run to remove any adware or spyware on your computer at
