The DEBUG MODE notice has been coming up now and then in the past few hours when we post on my forum. You can still post, but it's annoying.

Quote:
General Error

Failed sending email :: PHP ::

DEBUG MODE

Line : 236
File : emailer.php

Hope it's not the beginning of another major drama.

I don't think you have to fear another Debug Mode Circus, Astarte. The php Emailer is notoriously glitchy, and this particular error has got little or nothing to do with other Debug Modes.

I've reported the problem to Raulken.

And here is some reading for you; a description of the problem and what to do meanwhile:

Thanks, Fox.

It's not a major deal, the posts still go up despite the notice, so that's why I thought I'd give you a heads up in Glitches. Wink

Have a nice day/evening, wherever you might be. Very Happy

No problem with the right and wrong section in this case, Noname. This problem is somewhere inbetween to start with...

All I can do at this point is to refer to my earlier reply, above in this thread, and the topics linked to from there.

The problem is reported, but it may very well be caused by other work in progress.

Hi - we've been getting debug errors again today:

Failed sending email :: PHP ::

DEBUG MODE

Line : 236
File : emailer.php

Like the OP we can still post, it just appears astho we can't and we don't get taken back to the thread.

I had multiple members get this message within the last 24 hours.

I did the "resynch" thing but wonder if there's anything else I can do, or anything else I should look at?

This happened at "The h*ll Hole" forum.

I've had a third member get the same message within the last hour or so.

Seems my forum is infected.

Anything I can do? They say they get the message when simply trying to post.

The email debug error message is not an "infection". It just means something is not right with the email program.

I will leave a message for our webmaster.

You'll only get the message when an email has to be send after posting, so when there's a member who has the "Notify me on replies" on. That is why you don't get the error in every topic you post.

If the error doesn't disappear I would advice you to tell your members to turn off the "notify me on replies".

Just so I'm clear here. Embarassed

I have over 50 members.

If just one member has the "notify me on replies" option clicked, that could cause this debug message to appear for anybody who posts in that particular thread?

Yes. Seemingly so.

It is a bug that has occurred with the forums. It will be fixed and go away when the webmaster fixes it. It is not supposed to happen.

You can post a notice on your forum that there is a temporary problem resulting in that error message appearing after one posts a message. The message still gets posted, however.
