Hello! How do you enlarge the name of the forum on some of the templates (like subMirza) without the <big> & </big> tags showing up in the IE frame? Example I went into configuration on the subMirza template (just as a test) and entered <big><big>Mob Talk</big></big> and it worked fine as for the size that showed on the forum.... but up in the blue bar/frame of the IE it shows: <big><big>Mob Talk</big></big> instead of just showing Mob Talk ???? Anyone can help?

I also tried using the color tags to change the forum name to red but they didn't work ???

The HTML tags will always be in the blue bar. It is becuase the blue bar does not use HTML. For changing colors . . .

Red= <font color=FF0000>TEST</font>

Each color has it's own code. You cannot post the name of the color.

For all the color lists go here.

I am fairly familiar with HTML and I don't think there is.

Jacko, I'm afraid that Scoobs is correct, the forum name "box" is not made for (additional) HTML code. It has to do with the fact that the forum name is "sent" to more places, like the index link, right above the forum section; the one that says ForumUp English Language Support Forum Index, here. The very same text is also "sent" to the directory, and so on.

Scoobs, feel free to help your fellow members here on the forum, then the whole community can benefit from it.

And this far you have indeed showed that you know some about HTML.

Thanks to both of you for the reply. It is so frustrating as I thought I might have found a black/red template that I could put drop down boxes and such in the forum decriptions, etc... but I guess this submirza one won't work either, besides it really is too wide. The adfinium template is okay but when you click in the forum description box it takes you to that forum so I can't put any games or links in the descriptions. Oh well... I'll keep looking.

thanks again
Jacko

Mine is like that too. Confused If you go to Google you will see the HTML tags. But if you go to some other search engines, you won't see the html.

Jacko, if you want to keep the template, have you considered putting games, a link section, and all -- or at least some -- of that stuff in the Footer, below the forum?

All HTML and embed codes etc. (and more) that you can put in a forum description can also be put in the Footer.

It keeps the actual forum "cleaner", while the downside may be that all and everything in the Footer will be available to Guests, and not only to logged in members.

And if you worry that your members will not find it down there, then you can link to it from the Header, so people can just "jump down" from there -- as you have Ads Free and access to the Header as well.

I'll help you with the code for it, if needed...

Just a suggestion.

FoxLeonard

If you want to control the size and text of the "Forum Name" put the formated HTML text in the Site Description box and leave the Forum Name box blank.

You lose the name in a few other places, e.g. you get "Forum Index" instead of "MyForumName Forum Index" above the Forum listing, but the trade off might be acceptable.
