If I put Users enables the account, what does that mean they do?
If I put Admin enables the account, what does that mean i do?

Currently it is under admin, so how do i enable my users account?

When the user registers, an email with an account activation link is sent to the user. The user must click that link to enable the account. As soon as the user has clicked the link, it is possible for the user to log in and start posting.

A welcome email is sent to the user, and an activation email with an activation link -- similar to the above -- is sent to the Admin.

However, there is no way for the Admin to distinguish between legitimate users and spambots.

It is therefore recommended that the Admin checks the user profiles to then use the activation link, or the manual activation option in the Admin panel.

The exception is if you already know -- recognize -- the username, of course.

Admin Panel >> User Admin >> Management

Type/paste the username in the "box" and click Look up user.

The user's profile page comes up.

Go down to the bottom section, called Special admin-only fields

The first point is

User is active _Yes ¤No.

Change to Yes and click Submit at the bottom.

--------------

Idea A good way to recognize spam bots is that they usually have very odd emails, and/or their Profile language set to Albanian (as that happens to be first on the list).

Exclamation Note that spam bots cannot activate their accounts, if the setting is User activation.

I think that should be all, Valourant.

On an important side note:

Please put the link to your forum in your signature, so it shows up with every question. I happen to remember you, but other Staff members will not, and it will cause unnecessary delays.
