We don't have "support tickets". This whole support forum serves that purpose. So, please tell exactly what your problem is.

Your forum loads fine for me and I see posts from today, so it seems your forum is working. Therefore, it does not seem to be an urgent problem as defined on this support forum. So, I moved this to the "not urgent" folder.

Sweatpea, I have registered on your forum, and posted...

At the moment I don't find it slow -- if anything it is slightly faster than this forum -- but I will do a few more tests, at different times, and see if I find something wrong...

Meanwhile, a few questions:

Is it just slow to load, in general, or is it slow in different ways; for example slow to access, but working better once you are clicking from one thread to another; slow when posting, etc.

Is it at a particular time or period of the day that the forum is slow?

Are all or most of the members from the same area?

The more details you can give us, the better...

FoxLeonard

It is zippy fast for me. Just now the page loading time is 0.026. Can't get much faster than that!

I am using Firefox browser right now, with a popup blocker. If you and your members aren't using popup blockers, you may experience some delay while the popup ad is loading and trying to pop up.

You may experience slowness if you have a slow internet connection, such as dialup. Are all 10 of your members using the same internet service provider? Are you all going to the forum from home, or from work, school or a library?

And you have your evenings and days where on the globe?

All while I registered without problem, and got my activation email faster than I could log in to my mailbox... strange... Rolling Eyes

Sweatpea, we are not trying to dismiss your problem -- and I believe you when you say that you and your members have problems -- but if there actually is a problem with your forum (or the server it is on), then we need much more details than "slow" to be able to find it, as we experience no problems at all; not now, and not when you first reported it.

In that sense it still points at problems at the user end -- even if it is more than one user having problems...

Why can't they register? How do you know they can't? What exactly is the problem? Maybe they did not enter the correct code in the box when registering.

You only have 9 members now, and one of them is our ForumUp staff member FoxLeonard.

But what exactly happens. At what exact step was there a problem? Did some kind of error message come up?

How old are these people?

The registration function is working fine, so maybe they made an error. Tell them to try again.

Well, lets give it a few days and see how it goes. All seems fine now. Maybe the template has some sort of difficulties. Try using the subSilver template for a while.

You can change the font size on most of the templates. Go to the admin panel> Styles Management. Then click on "edit" next to the template you want to change. Go towards the bottom of the page and change the font sizes.

I doubt that the template is the source.

However, I have noticed that you have the "key word" pop-ups, at the moment. And I seem to remember a couple of times in the past, when complaints about slow page loading times and these particular pop-ups have coincided. They are only visible as long as you are logged out, but it is possible that the scripts in the background can slow certain computers / connections down, even for logged in members...

If the "key word" pop-up script is the source, then the problem should be gone in a few days, when those pop-ups are gone again. They only show up for short(ish) periods at the time.

but mainly I find the problem is in between between posting

I have managed to post fast enough to get the "flood posting" warning, and after that I have managed to post twice within 60 seconds, with IE7 (with all available "protection") and Firefox (with much less protection).
