Today i was checking the admin panel and apparently my board is out of date.

Im not sure what to do, is Forumup still thinking about PHP 3?

It said i need like 142 or something.

The ForumUp forums have the latest version of phpBB. On this support forum, which is .com like your forum is, it says in the admin panel:

Your installation is up to date, no updates are available for your version of phpBB.

I would be surprised if it was different in the admin panel of your .com ForumUp forum.

But, even if it was an older version, you cannot do anything. All updates are done by our Webmaster.

Yes, ForumUp will be changing to phpBB3 some time in the near future.

Strange. Maybe the webmaster was doing something with the server?

In any event, an older version would not be a problem. The forums would work fine, just as they did before the newer versions came out.

That is weird. Must a glitch on the end of phpBB. I don't believe there is a version called phpbb 148.0.0.

It happened to someone not on ForumUp. See:

So it must be some weird glitch from phpBB. Maybe related to a particular template?

Don't pay any mind to it or worry about it.

Hi gg'ssimon ... I posted about this yesterday on another thread.

If Raulken is the only person who can update the forums then I find it a little worrying that the site sourceforge.net wanted to download the update to my hard disk.

See my post quoted from yesterday below.

I've just checked into our forum this morning and the message is still there. After your comments above I will, of course, be ignoring it. However I was wondering if other people are also being directed to sourceforge.net and if so what happens if they accept the download.

From what I know, Raulken downloads php, so when downloading it to the servers, or it maybe more then that, it is stored on the server hard drive. I don't know much about computers internal systems and workings... I'm taking a class on it right now...

Thank you piratescoobs.

I see the message has now disappeared.

If Raulken updates the forums then I don't understand why sourceforge.net would want to download the update to my hard disk ... that is what I find worrying. However, maybe one of the Admins can clarify this.

The ForumUp forums use the phpBB forum making software. The makers of the phpBB software send automessages to everyone who has a phpBB forum. The messages in the admin panel about updating don't apply to anyone on ForumUp. They are there so individual people with their own domains who installed phpBB will know that a new version now exists. Then a link is given where those people can download, then upload the new version onto their own private webspace.

Again, just ignore any of those messages. Nothing to worry about. As our Webmaster Raulken announced in his new announcement in the "Announcements" folder, he is in the process of updating all the ForumUp forums. It will take a long time to do all of them, on all the 40 ForumUp domains.
