Admin Panel > User Admin > Permissions

Type in the name of the member. At the top of the page there is User Level - select Administrator in the drop-down box.

But please remember that we highly discourage making someone else admin. They will have the same exact permissions and abilities you do which includes not making you admin.

No. Making them a moderator will make it so they can moderate the forum but cannot access the admin panel.

You could give moderator permissions, but give the person a special rank title, to show they have more authority about what goes on in the forum than regular moderators.

You can also allow that person to see in a private staff section, that others cannot see in. That would make them more special, if that is what you wish.

But you really do not want anyone else in the admin panel, unless you know them well and trust them so very, very extremely much.

Ok, I've made the same mistake! I started the forum and made someone else an administrator. Unfortunately, things have changed and I could just reduce his role to moderator. However, I'd prefer to keep him as administrator (for reasons too complicated to mention here). If the worse happens and he makes me a moderator, could I shut down the forum? after all, I created it!

Thanks in advance!

If you give admin rights to someone, and they take admin rights away from you, they can to whatever they want. You will not be able to do anything in the admin panel.

But, if that happens, you post here and a special email will be sent the email you used to create the forum. In that special email will be a link to restore your admin powers.

However, if the other admin deleted things on the forum, they will lost forever.
