Turker, please show your forum URL in every question and reply done by you, a good advice: put it in your signature.

Yes, you are able. This can be done by configurating the following javascript. (posted by Sabrina on the Italian Support Forum)

Code:
document.write('<center><div style="position: relative; top:26px;"><a href="LINK" class="mainmenu"><img src="URL OF THE ICON" alt="" title="TITLE WHEN POINTING WITH MOUSE" border="0" height="HEIGHT OF THE ICON" hspace="3" width="WIDTH OF THE ICON">TITLE</a>&nbsp; &nbsp;');

   document.write('<center><div style="position: relative; top:26px;"><a href="LINK" class="mainmenu"><img src="URL OF THE ICON" alt="" title="TITLE WHEN POINTING WITH THE MOUSE" border="0" height="HEIGHT OF THE ICON" hspace="3" width="WIDTH OF THE ICON">TITLE</a><center></div>');

You should save this as a .js file and upload it in the web.
Than you should place the following in the site description field:

Code:
<script src = URL_OF_THE_SCRIPT></script>

PS. Please, post only one question per topic.

Turker, about this:

Alvas wrote:

Do not put it in the site description field.

Put it in the Footer.

Don't do this. It does not work on this particular script!
Put it in the site description, like Alvas said!

General Admin >> ForumUp

Go down to:

HTML codes on top and bottom of all forum pages

...and paste it in the lower field, titled:

Code at the bottom of the forum, after all topics.

And click Edit allow HTML.

Don't do this. It does not work on this particular script!
See Alvas post below, for explanation!

Many tutorials say that script links like these should go in the site description field, but they were written before there was access to the Footer.

If you make a tiny mistake in the code in the site description field, the whole forum can "disappear".

The same mistake in the Footer causes much less damage, and is easier to correct.

But when I place it in the footer the icons also appear in the footer.
They appear over the link to the admin panel and it cannot be accessed, unless you log out and use the special link.
I know that from bad experience.

Ooops, and thanks for pointing it out Alvas Embarassed

Never a rule without exceptions... Laughing

I don't dare to delete anything now, in case someone already took my advice. I'll put a huge disregard instead.

Also, the thread Sabrina posted is quite new.
The footer section was available on 10 September.
I am sure she would have mentioned if it ot was an option.

Turker, it is probably my fault, if you did what I said. My apologies.

You should put the script link in the Site description field, like Alvas said:

Admin Panel >> General Admin >> Configuration

Copy and paste the script link in one single line*, into the field called: Site description

*When you copy and paste the link it must look like this:
Code:
<script src = URL_OF_THE_SCRIPT></script>

And not like this, for example:
Code:
<script src = URL_OF_THE_SCRIPT>
</script>

And check that the end tag </script> is there, before you click Submit.

He is not putting anything in the bottom. He is trying to add new icons to the the top menu, as I have done on my forum.
