Is it possible to have some of the ForumUp staff clean up in the smileys available? A LOT of them are repeaters and that's a bit irritating to go trough while searching for the perfect smileys for the forum.

The best would be if it were possible to go to the page where you can see all of the smileys and just click on the ones you'd like to add. Would something like that be possible?

I'm aware that only the webmaster can clean up in the smileys so no need to tell me that Smile

I'd say it's not worth the effort. Especially as we'll be switching to phpBB3 in a few months (not sure) from now.

What I always do is search a smiley I like (on the pages) and then look up the name of the image (right click etc). Then you go to the smileys in your admin panel, add a new one and just select the first one - then click on the first letter of the name of the smiley and stop when you've found it.

So for example when a smiley is called "ghappy.gif" - you keep clicking the "g" till you've found it. That's pretty fast.

I'm not sure I understood that guide?

But... it sounds like all smileys will disappear when we go to the new version?

^ I'm sorry, I'll try to explain it again with an example! Wink Hope I make more sense this time..

You can find all the smileys available here:

- so I go there and found a smiley (that I like) on page 3:

Now by right clicking - properties, I see the URL of the smiley:

Quote:
http://www.forumup.com/images/smiles/slider_smileybands.gif

Now the last part (marked in bold) is how the smiley appears in the Smilies dropdown list in your admin panel (when you try to add a new smiley). As you can see the name starts with an s, so I select it (see image - just click @ the first in the list) and keep pressing the "s" until I've found the music smiley.

As for your 2nd question, again I'm absolutely making no sense in my first post.. No, not that I know anyway! Wink I meant that we'll have to upload them all again, so perhaps Raulken will sort them then/order them better.

Ah now it makes sence to me! Very Happy Thanks!!! That's so much easier than what I was doing.

Do you know how I can upload my own smileys? I've been having trouble with that too

You can't upload them on the normal way, but we found a way to work around that, although they don't appear in the "smileys" list then - but if you make an announcement somewhere on the forum with the codes.. it works fine.

Please read this topic for instructions:

Sounds a bit difficult but I'll give it a try later on. Thanks Smile
