This is reported as well by just about all the people registered for my forum.

There will be a ad that has sound. Right away the page doesnt finish loading. The sound from the add doesnt play right... I dont know how to explain it very well. But the sound from the ad skips, and restarts over the last one. The sound is not clear, it never finish the sentence of what the ad is trying to say. Instead it reloads itself. So after 30 seconds you hear

exmaple of trying to explain

-The Cat ran over The cat ran the cat the cat over roof the roof cat cat the roof-

Sometimes itll crash the browsers, or freeze.

Also this one is more rare, but lets say i click back to homepage after reading a thread. It will start loading multiple pages of what i click on, by opening it in a new window. It wont stop unless i end task with task manager. Otherwise it will load 100x of them.. it just never ends.

I think you can suggest the member to post up a screenshot so that staff can follow up. Smile

As Copycat has already said, please try to get a screen shot of the advert.

As to your problem with multiple pages opening, is this only happening to you? I haven't heard of this before on a forumup forum but it has happened to me elsewhere (some people find that kind of thing that crashes computers funny). I would do a virus scan (if you haven't done so already) and check to make sure all your anti-virus protection is up-to-date and your security settings are appropriate. It may also be an idea to delete your cookies as well.

If it is happening to others as well, have you placed any scripts on your forum? If so delete them as it could be a script that is causing the problem.

You cant take a screenshot of the ad with sound, it stops loading the page. And you are unable to scroll down to see even if it was there. Only the backgroun image loads (mine is black) and maybe a little bit of contex, like the banner. But thats all.

No virus on the computer, the one were the browser opens multiple and never ending times is reported like i said by others. I do have script that i added to my forum, but the sound problem was before the script.

Is the problem with the ad your guys way to have people buy no ad feature? Razz

Well regarding the 100x thing: do NOT close the page (or any other page) while they are loading. It happens in every ForumUp page, like what I had experienced. If you want to close them, go to the control panel of the computer (or task manager) and then click 'stop programme' or something similar (sorry I'm using Chinese version so I don't really know what's the name of it) for lots and lots of times. Everything will then close.

For the ad problem, currently I would suggest you to buy no-ads if the problem exists.

No other forums reported that problem, and there are many who have ads.

I am not convinced it is coming from an ad.

However, it is something from your forum. When I just went to look, my combination virus/trojan/malware protector stopped a trojan.

A trojan is NOT a virus, so if you must also use a program that scans for trojans and other malware.

Remove ALL scripts that you added. Every single one.

Then see how it goes with your forum.

Until you remove every script you added, there is no way of being able to pinpoint what the problem might be. Some third party scripts do have some sort of malware added, and sometimes they don't go "off" at first.

I went to your forum again today, and this time, it loaded much faster. There were no problems at all.

Did you remove scripts? If so, one or more of them must have been the problem.

No i havent changed anything since i first posted this. I will say tho that i havnet had the problem since i posted the 2nd time. (sometime around there). Scripits are all the same. Havent had people from the forum say anything recently. If the sound issue happens again, ill try to make out what "exactly" the ad is saying, and post it here. It just gets so annoying and laggy i just end task it. Some days the forum loads real quick, others its a little slower. Not sure if its the ISP or the host for the forum. Either way the speed isnt a big deal, what matters is. You guys provide a kickarse forum for free. I apperciate it, and the help you guys replied. I am considering buying the Ad-Free forum, just a little tight on the cash for the moment.

Just curious, I read somewhere that there will be no more layouts added onto the list. I know that the silver template is more customizable than the others, but.. What if i were to make a layout for forumups, allowing anyone on forumup to use the layout? Is this possible?

We do not tell forum admins to buy no ads when the problem is not on their end. We usually contact the ad company.

If you are talking about adding your own template that you create on your own to ForumUp's database that would not be possible.

As you said, the sub silver template is very customizable, even more through CSS editing.
