Hello there

I have changed quite a lot on my forum since I last posted and I am unable to use my original thread now so I thought I would start a new one and ask you all for your opinions on my forum

Please take a look and let me know

Thanks

Lorraine Very Happy

That's a nice layout.

It's a shame some of those styles don't lend themselves to Title or Banner placement, very well. There's no immediate, "This is who we are!", sort of thing. Although, a little bit of clever coding would get around that.

I would like to ask, where you found your waving flag. I need a swag of them, for an 'all-nations' project.

Thanks, Alice. That's my 'fall-back' site. I actually have some smaller flags from there, on my site.

The flag on the site above, was on a flag pole. Although not a requirement, I thought it may look better.

Kana3

Here is the tag for that flag
<img src="http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/annmon/emoticon%20pics/saint_georgeE.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a>

I got it from photobucket world cup images, hope that helps Very Happy

If you could advise me more about that clever coding you mentioned for banners I would appreciate that, can't use a banner otherwise on that layout Sad

There are a few tricks to these things. Some may require the use of a text based script file to be hosted somewhere. So if you can manage that sort of operation, that's good. (It's similiar to an image, but a different host).

The other aspect, and forgive my rudeness, but I don't like the idea of putting in the work, if you're going to switch styles next week. These codings generally need to be tailored to the Style, and it requires some experimentation to sort the best approach. But if that's not a problem, than neither am I. Smile

Do you have a proposed banner at this point ?

Kana3, no rudeness taken from your question, the site has been that way now for a few months and the members have all been given a chance to have their say as to whether they liked the colour etc etc and I am not in the mind to add to the amount of work I already do on the forum by changing it again Rolling Eyes

I only have what is already there banner wise which was designed by a moderator on short notice, personally I am useless when it comes to artistic creation and I am only learning the scripts and things since opening the forum.

I love the idea of learning more about these codes and how they work, personally I think its really clever stuff Very Happy

I suppose the other thing is the forum was originally started so that counselling diploma students could exchange ideas and thoughts, but it has developed into a community that chats about almost everything with a bit of counselling on the side. So I dont know how everything we do could be put across banner wise Question sadly my knowledge is limited in things like this Sad

I don't see it.

You must have it in a hidden folder.
